A Ngāti Hine FM Storytelling Wānanga - July 2023
Ngāti Hine FM hosted a two-day innovative, multimedia storytelling wānanga to capture and curate a collection of Ngāti Hine historical and genesis stories from marae perspectives as we traverse the great Taumarere river!
In collaboration with esteemed elders including Kene Martin, Waihoroi Shortland, Pita Tipene, Len Bristowe, Tohe Ashby, Ned Peita and Kevin Prime, the team developed a collection of contemporary, digitally illustrated stories, narrated in both te reo and English and podcasts.
The wananga was held 24-26 July at Te Rito and Otiria Marae in Moerewa.
